SPECIALITY DETECTION
We design, sell and install fire detection and suppression systems in industrial, hazardous, and the marine and military markets.
We work with the architects, consulting engineers and/or end users by assisting in the early design stages ... or we can design
and supply a system to meet the requirements of a general specification and the pertinent regulations. The Hiller companies can provide full installation of the equipment, including necessary wiring, or simply provide the final termination and checkout.
Perhaps you need a central alarm panel to monitor other systems such as gaseous suppression, or water detection. Whatever the case, we can design, install, and service a system to meet your needs. Our NICET certified engineers are able to design systems tailored to your specifications, often exceeding your expectations. Our experienced alarm technicians are able to service systems from the most out-dated to the most advanced. We are trained and certified to represent several of the leading System Manufacturers.
We represent some of the world's most respected Detection and Fire Alarm manufacturers. |
We supply and install systems using various methods of detection:
Flame Detection
Hiller Companies install, service, and support all types of Flame Detection Systems. We have factory trained personnel qualified to perform field service and ensure your system is operating properly. Our product offering includes:
Ultraviolet/Infrared (UV/IR)
Dual Spectrum Infared (IR/IR)
Triple Infrared (IR3)Flame Detection
Video Flame Detection
Gas Detection - Toxic and Combustible
Hiller Companies can supply your workers with the equipment they need to detect toxic and combustible gases. From portable gas detection to fixed monitoring and sampling systems, Hiller Companies have the solution for today's hazardous work environments. Hiller offers portable and fixed gas detection systems that use advanced technology to protect your employees and/or plant from practically any toxic or combustible gas.
Very Early Warning (Air Sampling-Type) Smoke Detection
VESDA air sampling smoke detectors provide the earliest possible warning of an imminent fire hazard by detecting particles of combustion in the earliest stage of a fire, sometimes hours before a smoldering fire transitions into the more disruptive and damaging flaming stage. The VESDA Laser product range includes detectors for small, single environments and models for areas up to 20,000 sq. ft. Displays and Programmers can be built into the detection unit or remotely mounted. The product range also includes UL Listed power supplies, optional VESDA System Management Software and VESDA Pipe – the only UL 1887 Listed CPVC Pipe for use in Plenum rated areas.
Clearly the BEST time for smoke detection is the incipient stage, the point where damage is minimized and response options maximized, and it is here where VESDA affords you a critical advantage: ... TIME
Linear Detection
ThermoCable ... is a twisted pair of extremely low resistance (.05 ohm/ft. of twisted cable) tri-metallic conductors held apart by heat-sensitive insulation and surrounded by an outer PVC protective jacket. The heat sensitive insulation is engineered to break down at specific fixed temperatures allowing the twisted conductors to make contact and initiate an alarm.
After a fire has been detected, the small section of cable that was activated can be easily removed and replaced with simple splicing techniques quickly restoring the system back into service. Replacing the entire length of cable is not required. ThermoCable offers unique new benefits in addition to be being addressable.
Now up to 10,000 ft. can be placed on any zone, new 35 foot spacing means greater sensitivity, can be used on any panel, offers both lower product and installation costs, and can be used to upgrade any existing conventional panel.
Digital Sensor Linear Detection ... Linear Heat Detector provides the advantages of line coverage with point sensitivity. The Controls System Single board design provides 4 field programmable inputs, 1 dedicated supervisory input, and 4 programmable outputs. The Control System also provides general alarm, trouble, and supervisory relays. Relays by zone are optionally available. Each initiating device zone supports up to 3,500 feet of Linear Heat Detector. Available with optional Alarm Point Location Meter. FM Approved and UL Listed.
Linear cable has a fixed temperature digital sensor and is therefore capable of initiating an alarm once its rated activation temperature is reached. At the rated temperature, the heat sensitive polymer insulation yields to the pressure between conductors, permitting them to move into contact with each other, thereby initiating an alarm signal. It is not required that a specific length be heated in order to initiate an alarm, nor is system calibration necessary to compensate for changes in the installed ambient temperature.
